We remember them.
We welcome you to the Camp Withycombe Veterans’ Day Open House Saturday, November 8th, from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.
This event follows the Veterans’ Day 5k Run / Walk which is also happening on November 8th, and will feature a showcase of interactive and informative military displays. These displays will encompass more than 170 years of Oregon’s military history ranging from what life was like during the 1850’s at Ft. Vancouver, through what is going on with the Oregon National Guard today. Along the way on this journey through Oregon’s military history, reenactment and living history groups will bring the stories of the Civil War, WWI, WWII (From US, Canadian, and UK perspectives), Korea, Vietnam, and Desert Storm to life in ways a textbook cannot match. Highlighting the event is Vietnam remembrance, which will be featured in a central display and thoughtfully interpreted and explained by living history specialists. This event is perfect for children, as many of these exhibits will be hands on, and the event is free for all to attend. Come for the displays, and stay for the BBQ lunch offered free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. We look forward to seeing you there!
